Come molti di voi sanno, sono cittadino britannico, nato a York, per cui la notizia mi tocca da vicino. Non sono mai stato un fan della famiglia reale e personalmente trovo che una monarchia sia una delle tante istituzioni insostenibilmente sfarzose e prive di senso nell’era moderna. Ma non posso che ammirare il garbo, la tenacia, la serietà e il pizzico di controllato umorismo con cui Elizabeth Alexandra Mary Windsor ha vissuto sotto i riflettori svolgendo per sette decenni un lavoro difficile che non si era neanche scelta.
