Customize your Lock Screen with Google apps in iOS 16
iOS 16 has arrived. And along with many new features, you can now customize your Lock Screen to put the information you need front and center.
Your Lock Screen is the first thing you see when you pick up your phone, and Lock Screen widgets for lots of Google apps are on the way. You’ll be able to unlock your device to access your favorite Google features in just one tap — and even see some updates right on your Lock Screen.
Here’s a sneak peek of what’s coming.
Find what you’re looking for, fast
Search
Need an answer fast? Start your Google search right from your Lock Screen. You can even configure the Search widget to start searching with your voice or camera — to translate, get homework help or shop what you see.

Chrome
Try our Chrome Lock Screen widgets to quickly launch Chrome, start a search with your voice or in incognito mode, or load our beloved dino game.

Drive
Access your files with our Drive widgets. Open a suggested Drive file or your starred files and folders with a single tap to pick up where you left off with that work project or short story draft.

Get where you need to go
Google Maps
With the Maps Frequent Trips widget, get real-time traffic updates and estimated travel times to places like home and work right on your Lock Screen. When you’re ready to head out, just tap to open the app and start navigating.
You can also find restaurants, shops and other favorite nearby spots by tapping the Maps Search widget.

Stay in the know
Gmail
Stay on top of your email with Gmail’s Lock Screen widget, which will automatically show you the number of new messages in your inbox. You can also customize the widget to see which inbox categories, like Social or Updates, contain new messages.

Google News
See real-time headlines with a quick glance at the Google News widget. And if something in particular catches your eye, simply tap to read more in the app.

Look out for all these widgets in the coming weeks. In the meantime, get ready by installing your favorite Google apps on your iPhone. Once our widgets are available, just press and hold down your Lock Screen to start customizing.

Top 25 B2B Content Marketing Influencers and Experts To Follow #CMWorld 2022


The combined in-personal and virtual Content Marketing World 2022 is finally upon us. As the biggest content marketing conference in the world, CMWorld brings together a stellar array of talented professionals chock full of curiosity for future trends, marketing insight, and aspirations for elevating the industry in the post-pandemic world.
For the past 14 years top marketers from the world over have gathered in Cleveland, Ohio for one of the world’s most comprehensive content marketing events, and this year’s Content Marketing World returns again for expanded in-person networking and learning.
Readers of our blog know we have a lengthy history with the conference starting at the beginning, with 12 years of speaking and attending along with eight years during which we partnered with the Content Marketing Institute to develop speaker and influencer content marketing campaigns.
A classic TopRank Marketing tradition that has been imitated in recent years but never duplicated is our annual list of content marketing experts ranked according to their social influence, a helpful compilation extracted from the hundreds of fantastic #CMWorld 2022 speakers.
List Methodology: For this list we utilize the Traackr influencer marketing platform to filter the content marketing subject matter experts who are speaking at the current year’s Content Marketing World conference — using a large number of criteria including the relevance of the individuals to the topic, the degree to which their networks engage, the size of their networks, and other factors. Online data is pulled in from blogs, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn and other social platforms.
The focus topic in question is most undoubtedly “content marketing,” and everyone included on this list is:
- A speaker at #CMWorld 2022
- Ranked in the top-25 for “content marketing” according to our relevance, resonance, reach and audience metrics

Many thanks go to all the people who are actively sharing knowledge about content marketing in 2022 by engaging and helping to elevate others with keen insight and expertise on the social web. This list is only a starting point to help expand your own content marketing universe.

The past two years have not been easy for business. However, through the disruption small businesses have been the heroes of our communities in many ways, from providing essential goods and services to being part of the community response.
Take Casa Botín in Madrid, the oldest restaurant in the world. While much has changed in the 300 years it’s been in operation, with many challenges along the way, manager Antonio Gonzalez and his family’s passion for the restaurant and its customers has remained constant. Throughout the pandemic, they kept Casa Botín afloat using a range of digital tools, from maintaining their Business Profile and keeping customers informed about opening hours and services, to using Google Meet to keep in touch with staff.
Casa Botín is just one of many much-loved Spanish family businesses – 72% of Spanish people say that small businesses are important to their local communities.

Technology has played a pivotal role in helping businesses adapt and thrive. Digital tools helped businesses find new audiences, enter new markets and build brand awareness. Antonio Gonzalez credits digital tools for helping keep Casa Botin afloat during the pandemic — and he’s not alone.
A report by the Connected Commerce Council released last year shows small businesses across Europe that switched to using digital tools during the pandemic reported 80% better sales than those that didn’t, and hired three times as many people.
Making it even easier for businesses and people to connect is at the heart of what we do. This is why we’re marking International Small Business Week in Germany, Spain and Ireland, after three successful years in the U.S. and Canada. This International Small Business Week, we recognize the heroes of our communities with a few new ways to support them.
We’ll be providing a series of free-of-charge training programs to small and medium businesses across Europe, helping them build the skills and confidence to succeed online. Research has found 22% of small business owners feel they lack the skills and knowledge to increase their use of digital tools.
In Spain, we’re working with Fundae to offer Google Career Certificate scholarships to 1,000 small and medium businesses to fuel opportunities for their business, and create new opportunities for their workforce. In Germany, we’re launching eight new free-of-charge online trainings in Google Zukunftswerkstatt to help small businesses improve their digital skills and grow online.
We also want to help these businesses operate more efficiently, reach new customers and stay in touch with existing ones. For small businesses based in Germany, Spain or Ireland until September 16, our support will include:
- Three months of Google Workspace free of charge
- €150 or more off a Chromebook
- 60 days of Shopify free of charge
In Germany, 40% off a domain from Google Domains is also available.
Helping you recognize your own small business heroes
In Spain, we are introducing the Heroes of Small Business sweepstakes. People will have until September 19 to nominate their favorite Spain-based small business for a chance to receive help to grow their business. Get started in g.co/pymes/semana.
All businesses in Europe can easily claim and verify their Business Profile directly on Google Search or the Google Maps app, and respond to messages directly from Search. Business Profiles can also help people find their local businesses and support them by posting positive reviews.
According to the European Commission, 99% of all businesses in the EU are small businesses, and they employ around 100 million people, forming the backbone of our economies.
